The NATRC Loan Library is a repository of Assistive Technology equipment open to Nevada residents with disabilities, professionals, and Nevada System of Higher Education students so they can borrow, experiment, examine and compare what Assistive Technology is available today.

Industrial Development Revenue Bonds IDRB are a type of tax-exempt municipal bond/public debt instrument. Proceeds are utilized by private manufacturing companies interested in locating a facility in Nevada or expanding an existing Nevada-based business. These bonds are structured to assist a borrower achieve the lowest cost of capital. The size of the expansion, the number of new jobs created, and high wages are important factors in weighing the approval of the application along with the ability of the applicant to pay back the bonds.

These bonds can result in more employment opportunities for workers with disabilities.

Nevada Assistive Technology Resource Center

The Nevada Assistive Technology Resource Center supports collaborative efforts with the community to bring about wider knowledge and adoption of Assistive Technology in Nevada. The development of a responsive best-practices based network for the delivery of Assistive Technology services to unserved and under-served populations in Nevada is a high priority. The Nevada Assistive Technology Resource Center is an active member of the Nevada Assistive Technology Council, and is responsible for establishing a new accessible social networking website dedicated to increase knowledge, use and access to Assistive Technology in the state of Nevada. The development of an effective and affordable statewide support and training strategy for Assistive Technology users is also a top priority. The Nevada Assistive Technology Resource Center is actively involved with researchers, developers and manufacturers of Assistive Technology devices to help create innovative Assistive Technology solutions.

Silver State Works Employee Hiring Incentive

The Silver State Works Employee Hiring Initiative was designed to create an opportunity for employers to help strengthen Nevada's economy while receiving incentives to hire pre-screened qualified workers to staff their businesses. With this program, employers can receive as much as $2,000 for each state-qualified employee hired.

Nevada businesses hiring more employees with disabilities can be a positive outcome of this program.

Train Employees Now

The Nevada Train Employees Now Program provides short-term, skills-based intensive job training to assist new and expanding firms to reach productivity quickly. A customized program is designed covering recruitment, hiring and job training for Nevada residents. Each training program is designed jointly by the firm and state agencies. Major elements of the program include the development of a job applicant list, programming, materials, and classroom training.

The employee being trained by this program can be a person with a disability who needs formal instruction to obtain employment.

Workforce Investment Act Employment Grant – Easter Seals

Easter Seals Nevada assists unemployed and under-employed adults challenged with impairments and multiple barriers to employment and provides the job skills necessary to find jobs leading to self-sufficiency. The employment program provides job search tools, work readiness, resume building, job placement and training opportunities to prepare for the workforce.
